The right kind of food is the most important factor in the promotion of health and the wrong kind of food is the most important factor in the promotion of disease.

In this era of scientific inventions, much progress has been made in various areas for the benefit of mankind, but this ‘progress’ has also been made towards destruction and harm to the people. The major harmful effects are from newly developed food items of numerous varieties which are available right from the roadside stalls to expensive restaurants. Sellers do not bother about the food values and its effect on health. Their main motto is that it must be tasty and enjoyable, so that it fetches more money for their pockets. Food plays one of the most important roles in maintaining good health. “The right kind of food is the most important single factor in the promotion of health and the wrong kind of food is the most important single factor in the promotion of disease,” said Sir Robert Mac Carrison, the greatest of all food scientists. If one has some will power, one should remain on a mono-diet — food items like papaya, banana, apple, skimmed milk, and buttermilk — for cleansing purposes as long as one can manage, but not less than seven days for a cleansing diet which cures the disease only up to a degree, depending on its intensity. Absolutely nothing else is to be taken throughout the day, except the mono-diet, as and when one feels hungry. The best is papaya — 4 or 5 times a day. It has a great curative effect. Lot of water has to be consumed, too.

Nutritional requirements vary from person to person, depending upon various factors including age, sex, physical activity, metabolic rate  and state of health. It varies from 1,500 calories to 3,000 calories. Countless cases are on record, of seemingly miraculous cures effected simply by means of dieting, aided by simple remedial measures such as cold packs, manipulative treatment, sunlight, and such others. Moreover, it is noteworthy that many of the people thus restored to health had been labeled previously as suffering from an incurable disease. Although, proper diet is the basis of curing all diseases, yet diet alone is not everything. Other health building measures, such as proper exercise, sleep, deep breathing, dental, and skin care, are also important.

A major problem of diet among the rich is that an average adult normally eats more than what is necessary for one’s health. In fact, the excess intake of food causes more harm than good. Eating less is, therefore, among the most effective device through which one can have a feeling of well-being. It is not the quantity and richness of the food that one eats which really matters, but how far it is digested and assimilated to offer the required stamina and benefit is all the more important and of key consideration in naturopathy. Skimmed milk is an excellent food.It has all the valuable nutrients of whole milk except the fat. It is also rich in vitamins A and D. Naturally sweet yoghurt is better and more nutritious than ghee or milk, as it is predigested milk. Similarly, buttermilk is highly beneficial.

 

Skimmed & Soya Milk

Add some water and boil the  milk for about 30 minutes; let it cool, remove the cream or malai. Repeat the same process, if desired. The best is to consume soya milk and its product prepared at home after expelling its odour as well as bitter taste by removing skin by rubbing with hands,the beans that have been soaked for 12 hours. Make milk and finally boil it at 120 degree temperature for about 20 minutes by adding little sugar and salt for taste.  You can make eight litres of milk out of a kg of soybeans.
